How the coffee finder works
Luxury coffee machines split into three families. Built-in coffee systems from Miele, Wolf, Thermador, Bosch and Fisher & Paykel install in a cabinet like a wall oven and make drinks at the touch of a button. Super-automatic machines such as Jura and De'Longhi do the same on the counter. Espresso machines (from the Breville Oracle Jet to the La Marzocco Linea Micra and Lelit Bianca) give you control over grind, dose and milk, and reward practice.
We score every machine we review on our performance, design, features and value ratings, then add or subtract points for what you told us: milk drinks favor machines with strong milk systems, “push a button” favors bean-to-cup machines, “full barista” favors dual-boiler espresso machines, built-in favors the cabinet systems, and your budget rules out anything well above it.
