Boiling, chilled and sparkling water taps

A boiling water tap puts near-boiling, filtered water at the sink in seconds, so you can skip the kettle for tea, pour-over coffee and blanching. Some systems add chilled and sparkling water from the same faucet. Each one pairs a tap with an under-sink unit, and the systems we cover list from about $1,088 to about $6,300 combined.
The short answer: if you want true boiling water plus chilled filtered water from one elegant tap, the Zip HydroTap Cube Plus (about $5,548 to $5,998) is the luxury pick, and the Zip Arc Plus (about $5,845 to $6,295) adds sparkling. If you mainly want sparkling and chilled water and don't need hot, the GROHE Blue 2.0 kit (about $4,639 list) runs through a full kitchen faucet. If you want near-boiling water for the least money, InSinkErator's Indulge Modern hot/cool system costs about $1,088 to $1,227.
You may know Quooker from European kitchens. Per our research, Quooker's country selector does not list the US as a market, so we cover US-sold alternatives instead. All comparisons use published specs and list prices; our ratings are editorial estimates, not lab results.

GROHE Blue Chilled & Sparkling 2.0 Pull-Down Kitchen Faucet Starter Kit
GROHE · Water tap · Sparkling water tap
- $4,639-$6,262 MSRP
- Flow (gal/min): 1.75
The GROHE Blue Chilled & Sparkling 2.0 starter kit replaces your main kitchen faucet with one that also pours filtered chilled, medium-sparkling and sparkling water. That one-faucet design is its biggest advantage: no extra hole, no second tap. List price is $4,639 in StarLight Chrome and $6,262 in SuperSteel. There's no hot or boiling function, and the filter, CO2 cylinder and cleaning cartridge are sold separately. For families who drink a lot of sparkling water, it's the most practical pick.
InSinkErator Indulge Modern Hot/Cool Faucet + Instant Hot Tank & Filter
InSinkErator · Water tap · Boiling water tap
- $1,088-$1,227 MSRP
- 3-yr full warranty
- Max temperature (°F): 210
The InSinkErator Indulge Modern hot/cool system is the value play in instant hot water. For about $1,088 to $1,227 (faucet plus tank and filter), you get near-boiling water at a factory 200°F and filtered cool water from a dedicated faucet. Be clear on two things: it isn't true boiling, and the "cool" water is filtered tap water, not refrigerated. If you want fast tea and oatmeal water without spending $5,000-plus on a Zip, this is the sensible choice.
Zip HydroTap Cube Plus Boiling & Chilled System
Zip · Water tap · Boiling water tap
- $5,548-$5,998 MSRP
- 3-yr full warranty
- Flow (gal/min): 1.8
The Zip HydroTap Cube Plus Boiling & Chilled system is the closest thing to a true boiling-water tap you can buy in the US. It delivers filtered water at 209°F and chilled water at 44°F from one sleek, square tap. Budget about $5,548 to $5,998, and know that price is two separate purchases: the under-sink command unit (about $4,698) plus the tap ($850 in chrome, $1,300 in other finishes). There's no sparkling water on this model. It's expensive, but nothing at this level does true boiling better.
Zip HydroTap Arc Plus Boiling, Chilled & Sparkling System
Zip · Water tap · Sparkling water tap
- $5,845-$6,295 MSRP
- 2-yr full warranty
- Flow (gal/min): 1.8
The Zip HydroTap Arc Plus Boiling, Chilled & Sparkling system is the do-everything drinking-water tap. One swan-neck spout pours filtered 209°F boiling water, 44°F chilled water and 44°F sparkling water. Budget about $5,845 to $6,295, and know that covers two purchases: the under-sink command unit (about $4,815) plus the tap ($1,030 chrome, $1,480 other finishes). The CO2 cylinder and regulator are extra. It's the priciest tap here, but no other US system does all three this well.
How to choose a boiling or sparkling water tap
Boiling, near-boiling or sparkling?
Decide which waters you'll actually use. Zip rates its HydroTap boiling water at 209°F, close to a true boil. InSinkErator's tank is adjustable from 160 to 210°F and ships set to 200°F, which it describes as near-boiling. GROHE Blue doesn't make hot drinking water at all; it delivers chilled still, medium and sparkling water alongside your normal hot and cold tap.
If tea and coffee are the goal, hot water matters most. If your household goes through cases of sparkling water, a sparkling system pays you back in convenience and fewer cans. Our instant hot water taps guide explains how these systems work and how they compare with a kettle.
Under-sink space, power and plumbing
Every system needs room under the sink. Zip uses a command unit, InSinkErator a 2/3-gallon tank plus filter, and GROHE a chiller and carbonator that runs on 115 V. Plan an outlet under the sink, leave space for a CO2 cylinder on sparkling systems, and check the clearance next to your disposer and trash pullout before you choose. A plumber should install the system.
Running costs: filters and CO2
Filters are a recurring cost on all of them. Zip lists filter life at 1,100 gallons or 12 months, InSinkErator's F-1000 filter is listed at 6 months, and GROHE rates its filter at 600 liters. Sparkling systems also use CO2: Zip's Arc Plus takes a 1.5 lb or 5 lb cylinder, and GROHE sells cylinders separately.
Safety and households with kids
Boiling water at the sink deserves respect. Zip HydroTaps include a boiling safety lock. Whatever you buy, show everyone in the house how the hot function works before day one.
Price and warranty
Zip lists a 3-year parts and labor warranty when registered, though retailers disagree on the Arc Plus tap. InSinkErator lists 5 years in-home service on the faucet and 3 years on the tank. GROHE lists a limited lifetime warranty on faucets and finishes, but its terms for the electronics and chiller aren't stated on grohe.us.

Frequently asked questions
Can you buy a Quooker tap in the US?
Per our research, Quooker's own country selector does not list the US as a market, so there's no dependable US sales or service channel. If you want the same idea in a US kitchen, look at the Zip HydroTap Cube Plus for boiling and chilled water, the Zip Arc Plus for sparkling too, or InSinkErator for a lower-cost near-boiling tap.
How hot does an instant hot water tap get?
It depends on the system. Zip rates its HydroTap boiling water at 209°F. InSinkErator's Indulge tank is adjustable from 160 to 210°F and is set at 200°F from the factory, which it calls near-boiling. GROHE Blue doesn't dispense hot drinking water; it delivers chilled still and sparkling water.
Are boiling water taps worth it?
They're worth it if you make several hot drinks a day, cook with a lot of boiling water or want a counter free of kettles. They're hard to justify on cost alone, since a Zip system lists above $5,500. InSinkErator's hot/cool system, at about $1,088 to $1,227, is the easy way to try the idea.
Do sparkling water taps need CO2 cylinders?
Yes. Sparkling systems carbonate water under the sink using a CO2 cylinder that you replace when it runs out. Zip's Arc Plus takes a 1.5 lb or 5 lb cylinder that isn't included, and GROHE Blue's CO2 cylinder is sold separately too. Leave space and easy access under the sink for swapping cylinders.
