The Lelit Bianca V3 is the enthusiast's espresso machine, and our pick for most serious home baristas. Whole Latte Love lists it at $2,999.95, with stainless steel dual boilers (0.8 L brew, 1.5 L steam), PID control, a quiet rotary pump and a paddle that lets you profile flow during each shot. It can also be plumbed, which makes it a rare fit for a built-in coffee bar. A 3-year parts and labor warranty is serviced by Whole Latte Love. You'll still need a grinder, and the paddle is a lot of control for casual drinkers.

Best for: Coffee lovers · Hands-on baristas · Milk drinks · Entertainers

Design and build of the Lelit Bianca V3

The Bianca is 11.4 inches wide, 15.75 inches tall and 19.1 inches deep, and weighs 58.5 pounds. At over 19 inches deep, it fills a standard counter, so measure, especially if you'll put it under upper cabinets. Finishes are stainless steel, black and white, with wood accent options.

The 2.5 L reservoir can mount on the side or back, which helps fit awkward spaces. An OLED display shows PID temperature, a shot timer and pre-infusion settings. It's made in Italy; Lelit is owned by Breville.

Performance on paper

Dual stainless boilers split the work: 0.8 L for brewing and 1.5 L for steam. The 0.8 L brew boiler is larger than the La Marzocco Linea Micra's 0.25 L, which on paper favors back-to-back shots. PID keeps brew temperature where you set it.

The paddle is the signature feature. It controls water flow to the group, so you can start a shot slowly for gentle pre-infusion, ramp up and taper off. That's how enthusiasts pull sweeter light roasts and fix shots that run fast. If you don't want it, leave the paddle open and brew conventionally.

The rotary pump is quieter than the vibration pumps in many machines, and it's what makes plumbing possible. Whole Latte Love lists 1,400 W total at 110 V.

Who it's for (and who should skip it)

Buy it if you already make espresso and want to explore flow profiling, or if you're designing a plumbed coffee bar and want a dual boiler that connects to a water line. It suits hosts who pull several drinks in a row.

Skip it if you want café looks in a smaller footprint; the Linea Micra is more compact. Skip it, too, if you'd rather press a button. Our coffee finder can sort out which type fits.

If you're building a coffee bar, this is the machine to design around. Put the water line, a drain if you want one, and a dedicated outlet behind it, and leave space to the side for the grinder and a knock box. A plumbed Bianca is close to café workflow at home.

Price, warranty and service

Whole Latte Love lists $2,999.95, with 3 years of parts and labor serviced through Whole Latte Love. That's longer than the 2 years most super-automatics carry. A plumbed install should include water filtration suited to your water, and a plumber familiar with espresso machines.

Our verdict

The Lelit Bianca V3 is the most capable machine here for serious home baristas: dual boilers, PID, a rotary pump, plumbing and paddle flow profiling, with a 3-year warranty, for $2,999.95. It's big and needs a grinder. Buy it for control; buy the Linea Micra for design.

Questions about the Lelit Bianca V3 Dual Boiler Espresso Machine

Can the Lelit Bianca V3 be plumbed in?

Yes. The Bianca V3 is plumbable thanks to its rotary pump, so it can connect to a water line instead of the 2.5 L reservoir. That makes it a strong choice for a built-in coffee bar. Plan for appropriate water filtration, and have a plumber familiar with espresso machines handle the connection.

What does the flow paddle on the Lelit Bianca do?

The paddle controls the flow of water to the coffee during the shot. You can pre-infuse gently, ramp to full flow and taper at the end, which helps with light roasts and fast-running shots. Leave it fully open and the Bianca brews like a conventional dual boiler.

Does Breville own Lelit?

Yes. Breville acquired Lelit, announced in 2022. The Bianca V3 is still made in Italy, and in the US it's sold with a 3-year parts and labor warranty serviced by Whole Latte Love. Breville's own machines, like the Oracle Jet, take a more automated approach.
