Miele MasterCool 24-inch Freezer Column review

The Miele MasterCool 24-inch Freezer Column (F 2672 Vi) is the most feature-rich luxury freezer column we cover, and the only one with an ice and chilled-water dispenser. It lists at $9,849 at Miele and one major dealer, with panels sold separately, and holds 11.23 cu ft (318 liters). Add NoFrost, SuperFrost, an IceMaker rated at up to 150 cubes a day, Push2open doors and a MasterSensor color touch display. It's the priciest of the three columns here, and Miele's standard warranty is shorter on paper than Sub-Zero's.

Design and build of the Miele MasterCool freezer column

The F 2672 Vi is 83.625 inches tall and 23.875 inches deep. It's panel-ready, taking a custom cabinet panel or Miele's stainless panel, both sold separately. Push2open lets a handleless panel open with a press, and the SoftClose door damper and MaxLoad hinge handle heavy panels smoothly. BrilliantLight LED lighting brightens the interior.

Miele lists 316 pounds; one dealer lists 336, so plan for the heavier figure. Miele's page shows the left-hinge F 2672 Vi; confirm the right-hinge version with your dealer.

Performance on paper

At 11.23 cu ft, the MasterCool sits between Sub-Zero's 18-inch (8.8) and Thermador's 24-inch (12.2). NoFrost prevents frost buildup, and SuperFrost quickly drops the temperature when you load a big shop.

The IceMaker is rated at up to 150 cubes per day. Miele quotes cubes, not pounds, so you can't compare it directly with ice makers rated by weight. The built-in ice and chilled-water dispenser is the standout; in a column kitchen, it saves a separate dispenser or trip to the sink. The MasterSensor color touch display controls everything, and Sabbath mode is included.

Who it's for (and who should skip it)

Buy it if you want the most convenient freezer column, with water and ice at the door, and you're pairing it with a Miele MasterCool refrigerator column. Push2open suits handleless, European-style kitchens.

Skip it if you want the longest warranty or the best value per cubic foot. The Thermador Freedom 24-inch holds more for less, and Sub-Zero's coverage is longer on the sealed system.

Also plan for the water line. The dispenser and IceMaker need a supply connection, so route it before cabinets go in, and confirm filter location with your installer. Swapping a filter in a tall column is easy only if you can reach it.

Price, warranty and service

Miele lists $9,849, matched by one major dealer, with panels extra. Minimum advertised pricing means savings come from a package; get a package quote with your Miele suite.

Miele's US warranty is 2 years from purchase, with extended plans up to 10 years. One dealer also lists a 10-year limited sealed system, so confirm the terms. We chose this model over the Liebherr Monolith 24-inch freezer, which a major dealer now lists as no longer available.
