Miele appliances: review and lineup

Miele is a family-owned, independent German company, headquartered in Gütersloh, and one of the few luxury brands not owned by a larger appliance group. It's known for German-engineered dishwashers, steam and convection ovens, and integrated MasterCool refrigeration designed around long service-life testing.

Our database covers six Miele lines. The G 7000 AutoDos dishwasher (about $2,199) doses its own detergent and opens its door to dry; Miele says it's tested to a 20-year equivalent service life. The PureLine 30 convection oven (about $9,299) adds a FoodView camera and Moisture Plus steam assist. The 36-inch induction cooktop (about $3,199) is one of the best values in 36-inch induction. The 36-inch dual fuel range with griddle (about $13,099) is built for bakers. In refrigeration, there's the MasterCool 30 column (about $9,699) and the three-zone MasterCool 24 wine column (about $9,449).

Miele's US warranty is 2 years from purchase, with extended plans up to 10 years sold separately. Its site has shown rebates and a cookware promotion, but we couldn't verify dates, so ask your dealer what's current.

Miele also makes it easy to build a coordinated kitchen: its induction cooktop links to compatible Miele hoods, and the MasterCool refrigerator and wine columns are designed to sit side by side behind matching panels.

Who should shop Miele: bakers, design-led kitchens with handleless cabinetry, and anyone who wants top-tier dishwashing. Who should skip it: cooks who prioritize maximum burner power or the largest ovens; Wolf and Monogram lead there.

Head to head: Miele vs Bosch dishwasher, Cove vs Miele, Thermador vs Miele, Miele vs Wolf wall ovens, Wolf vs Miele ranges, Gaggenau vs Miele and Miele vs Sub-Zero.

Miele's newer categories are in our database as well. For coffee, the plumbed CVA 7845 built-in coffee machine (about $6,999 to $7,689) and the countertop CM 7750 CoffeeSelect (about $4,499) both offer three bean containers. The PureLine 24-inch speed oven and 24-inch vacuum sealing drawer suit a 24-inch oven column, and the MasterCool 24-inch freezer column pairs with MasterCool refrigeration. Compare Miele vs Jura and Wolf vs Miele speed ovens.

The Miele CM 7750 CoffeeSelect is the countertop super-automatic for households that argue about beans. Its three bean containers hold 540 g total, and you assign each drink to one, so espresso, coffee and decaf are always ready. It lists at $4,499 at Miele and Abt, makes 20 specialties, brews two drinks at once and fills a pot of up to 8 cups. It's the countertop sibling of the built-in CVA 7845, without the plumbing. Two caveats: Miele doesn't publish pump pressure, and the warranty term is unclear.

The Miele CVA 7845 is the most complete built-in coffee machine we cover, and the most expensive. It's Miele's flagship US built-in, with a permanent DirectWater plumbed connection backed by a 2.7 L tank, three bean containers holding 600 g total, and a 0.7 L milk container. Miele lists it at $6,999 (shown as a sale price), and one dealer lists $7,689 retail. If you want true push-button coffee in a 24-inch wall niche and never want to refill water, this is the benchmark.

The Miele induction cooktop (36-inch KM 7740 FR) is the best value among the luxury induction cooktops we cover. At about $3,199 MSRP it's the least expensive 36-inch model on our list, yet it offers five variable-size zones, TwinBooster up to 3,700 watts, an 11-inch center zone, SmartSelect controls and Con@ctivity 3.0, which links it to a compatible Miele hood. It isn't full-surface, and it doesn't have the biggest bridging setup. For most cooks, though, it delivers premium induction for less.

The Miele AutoDos dishwasher (G 7000 Series G 7186 SCVi) is the smartest fully integrated dishwasher in our lineup. AutoDos with PowerDisk doses detergent automatically, AutoOpen pops the door at the end of the cycle for drying, and a 58-minute quick cycle handles busy nights. It runs at 42 dBA behind your cabinet panel. At about $2,199 on mieleusa.com, labeled as a sale price, it's also surprisingly well priced. If you were shopping older G 7000 models, this is the current fully integrated pick, and it's the one to beat.

The Miele EVS 7010 is a 24-inch built-in chamber vacuum sealer, and it makes the most sense in a kitchen that already has a Miele steam or combi-steam oven. On paper you get an 8-liter chamber, three vacuum levels and three seal levels, a 2.35 m³/h pump and bags up to 250 x 350 mm. It's handleless, 5.5 inches tall and finished in Obsidian Black. At about $3,899 on mieleusa.com, it's a serious spend for a sealer, so the case rests on how often you'll do sous vide, portioning and marinating.

24″ speed oven

The Miele PureLine 24-inch speed oven (H 7840 BM) is the most capable speed oven here and the best fit for tech-minded cooks and compact kitchens. It combines microwave and convection with 14 operating modes, an 85 to 475°F range, a wired roast probe, MasterChef automatic programs and Wi-Fi. Authorized retailers list it at about $5,199 in all three colors. It's the priciest of the three, it's 24 inches wide, and Miele doesn't publish its microwave wattage in US sources.

The Miele 36-inch dual fuel range with griddle (HR 1936-3 DF GD) is a baker's range first and a burner range second. Its 5.76-cubic-foot oven has TwinPower dual-fan convection, Moisture Plus steam-assisted baking and a wireless probe, all run from a motorized M Touch control panel. Up top, four burners range from 12,500 to 19,500 BTU beside a 13,000 BTU griddle. It lists at $13,099. The trade-offs: less burner muscle than Wolf or BlueStar, and lots of electronics. Bakers should shortlist it first.

30″ refrigerator

Miele MasterCool 30-inch Refrigerator Column

Value3/5

The Miele MasterCool 30-inch refrigerator column (K 2802 Vi) is the minimalist's integrated fridge: handleless, quiet-looking and built around produce-friendly MasterFresh drawers. It holds 16.77 cubic feet of refrigerator space and lists at $9,699 on mieleusa.com, a few hundred dollars under Sub-Zero's equivalent. You're buying design and German engineering more than capacity. The trade-offs are a slightly smaller box, a shorter warranty than Sub-Zero's sealed-system coverage, and the need for a separate freezer column. It's the natural fridge for a kitchen built around Miele ovens and dishwashers.

Miele MasterCool 24-inch Freezer Column

Value3/5

The Miele MasterCool 24-inch Freezer Column (F 2672 Vi) is the most feature-rich luxury freezer column we cover, and the only one with an ice and chilled-water dispenser. It lists at $9,849 at Miele and one major dealer, with panels sold separately, and holds 11.23 cu ft (318 liters). Add NoFrost, SuperFrost, an IceMaker rated at up to 150 cubes a day, Push2open doors and a MasterSensor color touch display. It's the priciest of the three columns here, and Miele's standard warranty is shorter on paper than Sub-Zero's.

The Miele PureLine convection oven (H 7880 BP) is the most feature-rich 30-inch wall oven in our lineup, and the most expensive one with a published price. For about $9,299 you get TwinPower dual-fan convection, 20+ cooking modes, Moisture Plus steam assist, a wireless probe and FoodView, an in-oven camera you can check from your phone. Its 4.59 cu. ft. cavity is smaller than Wolf's, and the value case is thin. Buy it if you love tech and design; skip it if capacity or price comes first.

The Miele MasterCool wine column (24-inch KWT 2602 Vi) is the most flexible full-height wine unit we cover. It offers three temperature zones from 41 to 68°F, 104 bottles on 13 FlexiFrame beechwood racks, Push2open, a SoftClose damper, BrilliantLight LEDs and a WineStorage Guide in the Miele app. At about $9,449 MSRP it's priced alongside Sub-Zero's Designer column. If you want the extra zone and a warmer upper range, Miele is the stronger pick on paper, especially in a kitchen with other Miele appliances.
