The Miele MasterCool wine column (24-inch KWT 2602 Vi) is the most flexible full-height wine unit we cover. It offers three temperature zones from 41 to 68°F, 104 bottles on 13 FlexiFrame beechwood racks, Push2open, a SoftClose damper, BrilliantLight LEDs and a WineStorage Guide in the Miele app. At about $9,449 MSRP it's priced alongside Sub-Zero's Designer column. If you want the extra zone and a warmer upper range, Miele is the stronger pick on paper, especially in a kitchen with other Miele appliances.

Best for: Wine collectors · Integrated / panel-ready look · Design-forward kitchens

What we like

  • Three temperature zones, one more than Sub-Zero
  • 41 to 68°F range covers whites, reds and cellar storage
  • 104 bottles on 13 FlexiFrame beechwood racks
  • Push2open and SoftClose damper for a handleless look
  • WineStorage Guide in the Miele app

Watch out for

  • About $9,449, among the most expensive wine units we cover
  • Bottle count comes from a retailer listing; Miele's page lists volume only
  • Standard 2-year warranty, with extended plans extra
  • Sealed-system coverage isn't stated beyond Miele's standard terms

Design and build of the Miele MasterCool wine column

The KWT 2602 Vi is a 24-inch, 83.625-inch-tall integrated column designed for custom panels. Miele also sells a stainless CleanSteel version (KWT 2602 SF) and the KWT 2612 Vi. Push2open lets you open the door with a press, which suits handleless cabinetry, and the SoftClose damper eases it shut.

FlexiFrame beechwood racks give the interior a warm, cellar-like look, and BrilliantLight LEDs show off labels. It's built to pair with Miele's MasterCool refrigerator columns.

Performance on paper

Three temperature zones are the headline. Each can be set independently between 41 and 68°F. That lets you keep sparkling wine cold, whites cool, and reds at cellar or serving temperature at the same time. Sub-Zero's Designer column has two zones and a retailer-listed range of 34 to 45°F.

Capacity is 104 bottles on 13 racks, per a Ferguson listing; Miele's own page gives interior volume rather than a bottle count. Real capacity depends on bottle shapes.

The WineStorage Guide in the Miele app helps you choose zone settings and track your collection. Like any connected feature, it's a convenience rather than a necessity, but it's useful if you're new to managing a multi-zone collection.

Who it's for (and who should skip it)

Buy it if you want three zones, a warmer upper limit for reds, and a design-led integrated column, especially in a Miele kitchen. Collectors who keep sparkling, white and red wines ready at once will use all three zones.

Skip it if you have a small collection or a tight budget. Monogram's undercounter Wine Reserve costs about $3,800. If you're building a Sub-Zero kitchen and want matching columns, Sub-Zero's Designer column is the natural fit.

Price, warranty and service

Miele lists the KWT 2602 Vi at about $9,449. Minimum advertised pricing limits discounting, so ask for a package quote if you're adding MasterCool refrigerator columns or other Miele appliances.

Coverage is Miele's standard 2-year appliance warranty, with extended plans up to 10 years available. If long sealed-system coverage matters to you, compare this with Sub-Zero's 5-year full and 12-year limited sealed-system terms.

How the Miele wine column compares

The Sub-Zero Designer 24-inch wine column review covers the closest rival, with 102 bottles and longer sealed-system coverage. To build a matching pair, see the Miele MasterCool 30-inch refrigerator column. The Monogram undercounter wine reserve is the budget option. Our verdict

The Miele MasterCool KWT 2602 Vi is the most flexible full-height wine column we cover: three zones from 41 to 68°F, 104 bottles and elegant beechwood racks for about $9,449. Its warranty is shorter than Sub-Zero's sealed-system terms. Buy it for three zones and a Miele kitchen.

Questions about the Miele MasterCool 24-inch Wine Column

How many zones does the Miele MasterCool wine column have?

Three. Each zone can be set independently between 41 and 68°F, so you can keep sparkling, white and red wines at different temperatures at once. That's one more zone than the Sub-Zero Designer 24-inch column, which has two, and it's the main reason collectors choose Miele.

How many bottles does the Miele KWT 2602 Vi hold?

A Ferguson listing puts it at 104 bottles on 13 FlexiFrame beechwood racks. Miele's own product page lists interior volume rather than a bottle count. Actual capacity depends on bottle shapes, since Burgundy and Champagne bottles are wider than standard Bordeaux bottles.

Miele MasterCool or Sub-Zero wine column?

Choose Miele if you want three zones, a 41 to 68°F range and a Miele kitchen, at about $9,449. Choose Sub-Zero's Designer column for two zones, 102 bottles and longer sealed-system coverage at about $8,685 to $9,595. Both are excellent full-height integrated columns.
