The Hestan KRD 36-inch dual fuel range (KRD365NG1) is the most powerful 36-inch dual fuel range here, built around a 30,000 BTU CircuFlame center burner. Five burners span 500 to 30,000 BTU, the 5.8-cubic-foot PureVection oven offers nine modes, and the warranty listing shows 3 years parts and labor. AJ Madison lists it at $13,500, though we couldn't verify Hestan's own MSRP. The trade-offs are five burners instead of six, no Wi-Fi and thinner dealer and service coverage than Wolf.
Best for: Serious cooks · Gas-flame cooking · Design-forward kitchens
What we like
- 30,000 BTU CircuFlame center burner, the most powerful here
- 500 BTU simmer for very gentle low heat

- Continuous cast-iron grates and controls built into the handle
- 3-year parts and labor warranty, per retailer listing
Watch out for
- Five burners, not six
- No Wi-Fi or app control
- Price and warranty come from retailer listings, not Hestan
- Color availability for the current model isn't confirmed
Design and build
Hestan grew out of the commercial kitchen world, and the KRD reads like it: stainless (Hestan calls it Steeletto), continuous cast-iron grates you can slide pans across, and MarquiseDisplay controls built into the oven handle. Earlier KRD models came in Hestan's color finishes, but retailers currently show the KRD365NG1 in stainless only, so ask before you plan a color kitchen.
The model history matters for quotes. The prior KRD365NG and the four-burner-plus-griddle KRD364GDNG are listed as no longer available; the "1" suffix KRD365NG1 appears to be current.
Controls in the handle keep the front panel clean and give the range a more restaurant-like look than knob-and-screen designs.
Performance on paper
The CircuFlame center burner is rated at 30,000 BTU, more than any other 36-inch range we cover and 10,000 above Wolf's top burner. That's wok territory and fast for big pots of water. Front burners are 23,000 BTU and the rear burners 15,500, and the dual-flow design simmers down to 500 BTU. That wide span is the KRD's real strength: searing heat and a whisper of flame on the same cooktop.
The 5.8-cubic-foot oven with PureVection convection and nine modes is slightly smaller than Wolf's 6.3 but larger than Viking's 5.6 or BlueStar's calculated 5.6. Self-clean and a Star-K Sabbath mode round it out.
Who it's for (and who should skip it)
Buy it if you cook at high heat, want a restaurant feel and like the idea of a less common brand. Skip it if you need six burners, want smart features, or live where Hestan service is hard to find; confirm a local authorized tech first.
If you're torn between Hestan and BlueStar, the deciding factor is the oven: Hestan's is electric, while BlueStar's is gas.
Price, warranty and service
AJ Madison lists the KRD365NG1 at $13,500; Hestan's own MSRP couldn't be verified because its site couldn't be accessed. Abt lists a 3-year parts and labor warranty for the prior KRD364GD model, so confirm it applies to the KRD365NG1. If it does, that beats the 2-year coverage most rivals offer.
Hestan is less common at dealers than Wolf or Thermador, so you may need to visit a regional specialist to see one and arrange delivery and setup.
How it compares
Our Wolf vs Hestan comparison sets it against the Wolf 36 dual fuel; the BlueStar Platinum 36 is the other high-heat pick. See our best 36-inch ranges and the range hub, and request a package quote to see local Hestan pricing.
Our verdict
The Hestan KRD 36 is the high-output dual fuel range for cooks who want 30,000 BTU at the center and a 500 BTU simmer, plus a likely 3-year warranty. Confirm pricing, warranty and local service, and skip it if you need six burners or Wi-Fi.

Questions about the Hestan KRD 36-inch Dual Fuel Range, 5 Burners
How powerful is the Hestan CircuFlame burner?
The CircuFlame center burner on the KRD365NG1 is rated at 30,000 BTU. That's the most powerful burner on any 36-inch range we cover, ahead of BlueStar's 25,000 and Wolf's 20,000. It's well suited to wok cooking and boiling large pots quickly.
What warranty does Hestan offer?
Abt lists a 3-year parts and labor warranty for the prior KRD364GD model. We couldn't confirm it for the current KRD365NG1, so ask your dealer. If it carries over, it's longer than the 2-year coverage from Wolf, Thermador and Viking.
Does the Hestan KRD come in colors?
Earlier KRD models were offered in Hestan's color finishes, but retailers currently list the KRD365NG1 in stainless only. Color availability for this model isn't confirmed, so check with your dealer before designing around a colored range. Stainless is the safe assumption for now.
