The Miele PureLine convection oven (H 7880 BP) is the most feature-rich 30-inch wall oven in our lineup, and the most expensive one with a published price. For about $9,299 you get TwinPower dual-fan convection, 20+ cooking modes, Moisture Plus steam assist, a wireless probe and FoodView, an in-oven camera you can check from your phone. Its 4.59 cu. ft. cavity is smaller than Wolf's, and the value case is thin. Buy it if you love tech and design; skip it if capacity or price comes first.
Best for: Bakers · Design-forward kitchens · Steam cooking
What we like
- FoodView camera lets you check browning from the Miele app
- Moisture Plus adds bursts of steam without a separate steam oven
- 20+ modes, six rack levels and a wireless precision probe

Watch out for
- About $9,299, the highest published price among our 30-inch ovens

- Steam assist isn't a true combi-steam oven
- Standard 2-year warranty; longer coverage costs extra
Design and build of the Miele PureLine oven
PureLine is Miele's sleek, glass-forward look, and the H 7880 BP is offered in Clean Touch Steel, Graphite Grey and Obsidian Black. That finish choice matters if you're designing around dark cabinetry or a black-glass cooktop. The M Touch display uses MotionReact, designed to respond as you approach, and the touch-cool door is a real plus in a family kitchen.
Performance on paper
TwinPower uses two convection fans, Miele's answer to Wolf's dual VertiFlow, aimed at even heat across six rack levels. With 20+ modes it covers everything from standard bake to specialty programs, and the wireless probe tracks internal temperature without a cord through the door.
Moisture Plus is the differentiator for bakers: it injects steam during baking for better bread crust and juicier roasts. Read it as steam assist, not a full combi-steam oven like Gaggenau's. TasteControl is designed to cool the cavity quickly after cooking so food doesn't keep going, which helps with delicate dishes.
FoodView is the conversation piece. A camera inside the oven sends images to the Miele app, so you can check a roast from the patio. Remember that every extra electronic feature is one more part that can eventually need service.
The 4.59 cu. ft. cavity is fine for most households but tighter than Wolf's 5.1 or Monogram's 5.0 if you cook for crowds.
Who it's for (and who should skip it)
Buy it if you want the most capable single oven without adding a separate steam unit, care about finish options, and are comfortable with app-driven features. Bakers who want steam-assisted bread will get the most from it.
Skip it if you regularly cook for big groups, prefer simple controls, or want value. The Thermador Masterpiece delivers 16 modes for about $3,500 less.
Price, warranty and service
Miele lists the H 7880 BP at about $9,299. Minimum advertised pricing limits discounting, so ask for a package quote if you're buying a Miele dishwasher or cooktop too. Coverage is Miele's standard 2-year appliance warranty, with extended plans of up to 10 years available. Confirm Miele service coverage in your area before you buy.

Questions about the Miele PureLine 30-inch Convection Oven with FoodView
Is the Miele PureLine oven a steam oven?
Not fully. Moisture Plus adds bursts of steam during convection cooking, which helps bread crust and keeps roasts moist. A true combi-steam oven, like Gaggenau's 400 Series, controls humidity across the whole cook. If you want steam occasionally inside your main oven, Moisture Plus is a convenient middle ground.
How big is the Miele H 7880 BP?
Miele lists 4.59 cu. ft. with six rack levels. That's slightly larger than the Thermador Masterpiece (4.5 cu. ft.) and smaller than the Wolf M Series (5.1) or Monogram Statement (5.0). It suits most families, but entertainers who run several full sheet pans at once may feel the difference.
Does the FoodView camera really matter?
It's a convenience, not a cooking upgrade. FoodView lets you see browning in the Miele app without opening the door and losing heat. If you're the type who watches bread or a roast closely, you'll use it. If you don't use cooking apps, skip paying for it and look at Wolf or Thermador.
