The Thermador Pro Harmony 36-inch standard-depth gas range (PRG366WH) is the best value among the pro-style 36-inch ranges here. At $7,749 list, it gives you six Star burners up to 18,000 BTU, ExtraLow simmering, Wi-Fi and a 4.9-cubic-foot oven, in a standard-depth body that sits flush with 24-inch cabinets. The trade-offs are a smaller oven, only four cooking modes and less top-end power than Wolf or BlueStar. For budget-minded remodelers who want the pro look, it's the first range to shortlist on paper.

Best for: Gas-flame cooking · Attainable luxury · Smaller kitchens

  • All-gas oven is less precise for baking

Design and build

Pro Harmony is Thermador's pro look in a friendlier package. The standard-depth design is the headline: many pro ranges stick out past your counters, but this one lines up flush with 24-inch cabinets. That makes it a strong fit for smaller kitchens and remodels where every inch of walkway counts.

It's finished in stainless and slides into the opening. A TFT display and Full Access telescopic racks add some polish.

Slide-in installation also lets the range sit tight between cabinets, for a cleaner, more built-in look than many freestanding pro ranges.

Performance on paper

Thermador's patented Star burners top out at 18,000 BTU, with 120,000 BTU total across six burners on natural gas. The star shape puts more flame ports around the pan, which helps heat spread evenly, and ExtraLow cycles the flame for gentle simmering.

For context, 18,000 BTU is plenty for most home cooking but below Wolf's 20,000 and BlueStar's 25,000. If you wok-cook or sear constantly, you'll notice the difference; most cooks won't.

The oven is 4.9 cubic feet per thermador.com; Ferguson lists 5.1, but we use Thermador's figure. Four cooking modes is basic for this price tier, but a meat probe and Wi-Fi through Home Connect help.

The meat probe matters more than it sounds on a basic oven: it lets you cook roasts to temperature rather than by time, which helps make up for the limited mode count.

Who it's for (and who should skip it)

Buy it if you want a pro-style gas range on a tighter budget, have a smaller kitchen, or want a flush standard-depth install. It's also a smart way to unlock Thermador promotions.

Skip it if you bake seriously, need a bigger oven, or want maximum burner output.

Our verdict

The Thermador Pro Harmony 36 gas range is the smart-value pro range: six Star burners, Wi-Fi and a flush standard-depth fit for $7,749. Serious bakers and high-heat cooks should look higher, but for most kitchens it delivers the pro look and plenty of power.

Questions about the Thermador Pro Harmony 36-inch Gas Range, Standard Depth

Is the Thermador Pro Harmony standard depth?

Yes. The PRG366WH is a standard-depth range designed to sit flush with 24-inch cabinets. Many pro-style ranges are deeper and stick out past the counters, so this is a real advantage in smaller kitchens or tight layouts. Confirm your cabinet depth first.

How many BTUs is the Thermador Pro Harmony 36?

Its six Star burners top out at 18,000 BTU on the strongest burner, with 120,000 BTU total across the cooktop on natural gas. ExtraLow lets the burners simmer very gently. That's slightly less peak power than Wolf, Viking or BlueStar.

What size is the Thermador Pro Harmony oven?

Thermador lists the cavity at 4.9 cubic feet; Ferguson lists 5.1. We use Thermador's figure. It's large enough for most family cooking but smaller than ovens in Wolf's or BlueStar's 36-inch ranges. Measure your largest roasting pan and sheet pans before you buy.
