The Wolf 36-inch sealed burner rangetop (SRT366) is the best all-round 36-inch rangetop for cooks who care about low heat as much as high. Its six dual-stacked burners top out at 20,000 BTU, and every one of them can simmer and melt. List price is about $5,390. Rivals offer hotter burners (BlueStar, Monogram) or a lower price (Thermador), but none matches Wolf's control across all six. There's no griddle on this version and no Wi-Fi.
Best for: Serious cooks · Gas-flame cooking · Large kitchens
What we like
- Simmer and melt on all six burners
- 20,000 BTU front burner, 95,200 BTU total
- Continuous porcelain-coated cast-iron grates
- Automatic reignition and illuminated controls
- Red, stainless or black knobs; three bezel finishes
Watch out for
- Max 20,000 BTU trails BlueStar and Monogram
- About $390 more than Thermador's six-burner rangetop
- No griddle or charbroiler on the SRT366
- Low-end BTU figures aren't published
Design and build
The SRT366 is a built-in rangetop: it drops into a 36-by-24-inch counter cutout and pairs with wall ovens below or elsewhere. It wears Wolf's signature red knobs as standard, with stainless or black knobs and stainless, chrome or brass bezels as options. Continuous porcelain-coated cast-iron grates let you slide heavy pots across without lifting, and the control panel is illuminated.
It's a pure six-burner layout, with no griddle or charbroiler on this configuration.
Performance on paper
AJ Madison lists the burner maximums as 20,000, 18,000, 18,000, 15,000, 15,000 and 9,200 BTU, which add up to 95,200 BTU. Each burner is dual-stacked, with an upper tier for high heat and a lower tier for gentle simmering and melting. That's Wolf's real advantage: you can hold chocolate or a beurre blanc on any burner, not just one or two.
One spec conflict to note: AJ Madison's spec table says four dual-stacked burners, while its title, its feature list and Wolf all say six. Wolf's own page is the one to trust. Low-end BTU figures aren't published.
Who it's for (and who should skip it)
Buy it if you cook sauces, braise and sear in the same session, want a rangetop rather than a range so you can put ovens at eye level, and like Wolf's look. Sabbath mode and Star-K certification also suit observant households.
Skip it if you want the hottest wok burner; BlueStar's 25,000 BTU fronts or Monogram's 23,000 BTU pair will suit you better. Skip it too if a built-in griddle matters, or if Thermador's lower price and 2026 promotion tip the budget.
Price, warranty and service
Wolf lists the SRT366 at about $5,390 with brushed stainless knobs and chrome bezels; the LP version is SRT366-LP. Wolf enforces minimum advertised pricing, so savings come from dealer packages with Sub-Zero refrigeration or Wolf ovens. AJ Madison lists a 2-year full parts and labor warranty, with additional limited coverage under Wolf's written warranty.
How it compares
Wolf vs Thermador rangetops is the closest head-to-head, and BlueStar vs Wolf covers the high-output alternative. The Wolf 36-inch professional gas cooktop is the lower-profile, lower-cost option. Our best 36-inch gas cooktops and rangetops and cooktops hub cover the field, and a package quote shows Wolf bundle pricing.
Our verdict
The Wolf SRT366 is the rangetop for cooks who value control. Six dual-stacked burners that all simmer, a 20,000 BTU top burner and Wolf's build justify the roughly $5,390 list. Wok cooks and griddle fans should look at BlueStar, Monogram or a griddle model.

Questions about the Wolf 36-inch Sealed Burner Rangetop, 6 Burners
How many BTUs is the Wolf 36-inch rangetop?
AJ Madison lists burner maximums of 20,000, 18,000, 18,000, 15,000, 15,000 and 9,200 BTU, totaling 95,200 BTU. Every burner is dual-stacked, so all six can simmer and melt.
Does the Wolf SRT366 have a griddle?
No. The SRT366 is six burners with no griddle or charbroiler. If you want a griddle, ask your dealer about Wolf's other 36-inch rangetop configurations, or consider a separate griddle elsewhere in the kitchen.
Is a rangetop better than a cooktop?
A rangetop has front-facing knobs and pro-style output, and it needs a deeper cutout. A cooktop is lower-profile with knobs on top. Wolf's CG365P cooktop costs about $2,920 versus $5,390 for this rangetop; our rangetop vs cooktop guide covers the trade-offs.
