The Cove dishwasher (24-inch DW2451) is the dishwasher Sub-Zero Group built to match Sub-Zero and Wolf kitchens, and on paper it backs up the badge. It's rated at 41 dBA, offers 12 wash cycles and 6 add-on options, and uses 3 spray arms with 45 jets and a 4-stage filter. Coverage is strong too, including a limited lifetime warranty on the stainless tub and door liner. At about $2,935 to $3,160 MSRP it's the priciest standard dishwasher we cover, so it makes most sense in an all-Sub-Zero/Wolf kitchen.

Best for: Quiet operation · Integrated / panel-ready look

Watch out for

  • Water softener requires the DW2451WS variant

Design and build of the Cove dishwasher

The DW2451 is panel-ready by default, so your cabinet panel covers the front. You can also buy a stainless door kit with a tubular or pro handle to match Wolf and Sub-Zero stainless appliances. The interior is fastenerless stainless, which looks clean and avoids exposed screws, and four LED lights brighten the tub when you open the door.

The DW2451 replaces the legacy DW2450. Variants include the DW2451WS with a water softener and an ADA-height DW2451/ADA.

Performance on paper

At 41 dBA, the Cove is very quiet: 1 dBA louder than Bosch Benchmark's 39 and quieter than Miele and Thermador at 42. Any of these will be hard to hear over normal kitchen noise.

Cleaning hardware is serious. Three spray arms and 45 jets aim to cover the whole tub, and a 4-stage fine mesh filter traps food particles so they don't redeposit on dishes. Twelve wash cycles and 6 add-on options give you plenty of control, though most households settle into two or three.

The adjustable middle rack and stemware rail help with tall glasses. Leak protection uses a conductivity sensor to detect water where it shouldn't be, and the Sub-Zero/Wolf/Cove Owner's App adds remote start and rinse-aid alerts.

Who it's for (and who should skip it)

Buy it if you're building a Sub-Zero and Wolf kitchen and want a matching dishwasher with strong coverage, or if long-term tub and liner protection matters to you. The app and stainless kit options make it easy to coordinate.

Skip it if value is the priority. Bosch Benchmark is quieter at about $1,999, and Miele adds automatic dosing for less. If you have hard water, make sure you order the DW2451WS.

Price, warranty and service

Sub-Zero Group lists the Cove at about $2,935 panel-ready without a handle, up to about $3,160 with a stainless door kit and pro handle. Minimum advertised pricing means savings come from dealer packages, so request a package quote with your Sub-Zero and Wolf appliances.

Coverage is a full 2-year parts and labor warranty, a limited 5-year parts warranty on pumps, motors, control boards and baskets, and a limited lifetime warranty on the stainless tub and door liner. That's stronger than Bosch's 1-year full coverage.

How the Cove dishwasher compares

Cove vs Bosch dishwasher weighs Cove's coverage against Bosch's price and quiet. Cove vs Miele dishwasher compares it with Miele's AutoDos. The Thermador Star Sapphire dishwasher review covers another 2-year option. See our best luxury dishwashers and the dishwasher hub.

Our verdict

The Cove DW2451 is the natural dishwasher for a Sub-Zero and Wolf kitchen: 41 dBA, serious cleaning hardware and a lifetime tub liner warranty. At about $2,935 to $3,160 it costs more than quieter or smarter rivals. Buy it for brand matching and coverage; buy Bosch for value.

Questions about the Cove 24-inch Dishwasher, Panel Ready

Is the Cove dishwasher worth the price?

It is if you're building a Sub-Zero and Wolf kitchen and value matching finishes, the shared Owner's App and strong coverage, including a limited lifetime tub and door liner warranty. If you're not tied to the brand, Bosch Benchmark is quieter at about $1,999, and Miele offers automatic dosing for about $2,199.

How quiet is the Cove dishwasher?

Cove rates the DW2451 at 41 dBA. That's quieter than Miele and Thermador Star Sapphire at 42 dBA and slightly louder than Bosch Benchmark at 39 dBA. In a typical kitchen, all of these are quiet enough to run during dinner without raising your voice.

What's the difference between Cove DW2450 and DW2451?

The DW2450 is now a legacy model, and the DW2451 is the current version. If you're buying new, order the DW2451, or the DW2451WS if you need a built-in water softener. Ask your dealer to confirm panel and handle kits for your chosen configuration.
