The InSinkErator Indulge Modern hot/cool system is the value play in instant hot water. For about $1,088 to $1,227 (faucet plus tank and filter), you get near-boiling water at a factory 200°F and filtered cool water from a dedicated faucet. Be clear on two things: it isn't true boiling, and the "cool" water is filtered tap water, not refrigerated. If you want fast tea and oatmeal water without spending $5,000-plus on a Zip, this is the sensible choice.
Best for: Attainable luxury · Smaller kitchens · Coffee lovers
What we like
- About a fifth of the price of a Zip HydroTap
- Adjustable 160 to 210°F thermostat
- 60 cups an hour at 200°F
- Filtration included (F-1000, NSF 42)
- 5-year in-home faucet warranty
Watch out for
- Factory setting is 200°F, not true boiling
- Cool water is filtered, not chilled
- Small 2/3-gallon tank
- Filters need changing every 6 months
Design and build
This is two parts: the Indulge Modern F-HC3300 faucet and the HWT-F1000S tank with filtration. The faucet comes in chrome, satin nickel or matte black, and it's a separate faucet from your main kitchen tap, so plan for a spare sink hole or a countertop hole.
Under the sink, the 0.67-gallon stainless steel tank heats water, and the F-1000S filter treats both the hot and cool lines. If you want a touchscreen, InSinkErator offers the digital HWT300 tank (190 to 210°F) as an upgrade.
Performance on paper
The tank ships set to 200°F and adjusts from 160 to 210°F. At 200°F, InSinkErator rates it at 60 cups an hour, plenty for tea, French press, instant oatmeal and blanching a few vegetables. Turn it up toward 210°F and you get closer to boiling, but it never reaches a true 212°F boil.
The cool side runs through the filter but isn't refrigerated. If you want cold drinking water on tap, you'll need a chiller-based system like Zip or GROHE Blue.
Who it's for (and who should skip it)
Buy it if you drink a lot of tea or coffee, want hot water in seconds, and would rather put the savings into your range or refrigerator. It's also a sensible fit for smaller kitchens and secondary prep sinks.
Skip it if you need a true rolling boil from the tap, chilled water or sparkling water. Skip it as well if you don't have room for a second faucet.
Price, warranty and service
AJ Madison lists the F-HC3300 faucet at $619 in chrome or $757.80 in matte black, and the HWT-F1000S tank and filtration at $469, for about $1,088 to $1,227. Warranty is split: the faucet carries a 5-year in-home service warranty, the tank a 3-year limited warranty, and the filtration system 1 year. Budget for replacement filters every 6 months.
InSinkErator is owned by Whirlpool. This system is a US substitute for the 4N1 Touch, which isn't sold here.
How it compares
The Zip HydroTap Cube Plus delivers true 209°F boiling plus chilled water for about five times the price. The GROHE Blue chilled and sparkling kit covers cold and fizzy but no hot. Our best boiling and sparkling water taps and the instant hot water taps guide explain the trade-offs, and the water taps hub lists every option. The Kitchen Suite Matcher can help you plan the rest.
Our verdict
The InSinkErator Indulge Modern hot/cool system gives you near-boiling water and filtered cool water for around $1,100 to $1,200. It isn't true boiling and it doesn't chill, but for most tea and coffee drinkers it's all they need. Choose Zip only if 209°F or chilled water truly matters.

Questions about the InSinkErator Indulge Modern Hot/Cool Faucet + Instant Hot Tank & Filter
Does InSinkErator make boiling water?
Not quite. The tank ships at 200°F and adjusts up to 210°F, so it's near-boiling rather than a true 212°F boil. It's hot enough for tea, coffee and instant foods, but not for a rolling boil.
Is the cool water from the Indulge faucet chilled?
No. The cool side is filtered through the F-1000S system, but it isn't refrigerated. It comes out at your cold-water line temperature. For chilled water, look at Zip HydroTap or GROHE Blue.
How often do you change the InSinkErator filter?
InSinkErator rates the F-1000 filter for 6 months. Changing it on schedule keeps taste consistent and reduces scale in the tank. The filtration system itself has a 1-year warranty, separate from the faucet and tank coverage.
