InSinkErator, owned by Whirlpool since it completed the purchase from Emerson in November 2022, is based in Mount Pleasant, Wisconsin. It's best known for food-waste disposers, and it also makes instant hot-water dispensers and tanks. For many US kitchens, it's the practical, affordable route to near-boiling water at the sink.

Our database covers the InSinkErator Indulge Modern hot/cool system (about $1,088 to $1,227 for faucet plus tank). It pairs a dedicated F-HC3300 faucet with the HWT-F1000S tank and filtration. The 2/3-gallon stainless tank comes set to 200°F and adjusts from 160 to 210°F, and it's rated at 60 cups an hour at 200°F. The included F-1000 filter (NSF 42) lasts about 6 months. The faucet comes in chrome, satin nickel or matte black, and a digital HWT300 tank is available as an upgrade.

Be clear on what you get. This is near-boiling water, not a true rolling boil, and the cool side is filtered but not refrigerated. If you want chilled or sparkling water, or true boiling, you'll need a pricier system. InSinkErator's 4N1 boiling tap is a UK and EU product.

Warranty varies by part: the faucet carries 5 years of in-home service, the tank 3 years limited and the filtration 1 year.

Who should shop InSinkErator: tea drinkers, cooks who want hot water for blanching and cleanup, and anyone who wants instant hot water without spending $5,000. Who should skip it: buyers who want true 209°F boiling with chilled and sparkling water from one tap; see Zip and its HydroTap Cube Plus, or GROHE for chilled and sparkling through the main faucet.

The InSinkErator Indulge Modern hot/cool system is the value play in instant hot water. For about $1,088 to $1,227 (faucet plus tank and filter), you get near-boiling water at a factory 200°F and filtered cool water from a dedicated faucet. Be clear on two things: it isn't true boiling, and the "cool" water is filtered tap water, not refrigerated. If you want fast tea and oatmeal water without spending $5,000-plus on a Zip, this is the sensible choice.

Questions about InSinkErator

Does InSinkErator make boiling water?

It makes near-boiling water. The Indulge system's tank is set to 200°F at the factory and adjusts up to 210°F, which is hot enough for tea, instant oatmeal and blanching. For a true 209°F boil from the tap, Zip's HydroTap systems are the luxury alternative, at several times the price.

How much does an InSinkErator instant hot system cost?

The Indulge Modern faucet plus HWT-F1000S tank and filtration comes to about $1,088 in chrome and about $1,227 in matte black, based on the sum of retailer prices. Add installation, an outlet under the sink and replacement filters about every 6 months.

What warranty does InSinkErator offer?

It depends on the part. The Indulge Modern faucet has a 5-year in-home service warranty, the HWT-F1000S tank has a 3-year limited warranty and the filtration has 1 year. The digital HWT300 tank upgrade carries 4 years in-home. Keep receipts for both pieces.
