- Filtered boiling, chilled and sparkling water from one swan-neck tap
- Power-Pulse boiling control
- Boiling safety lock, ADA compliant
- Uses 1.5 lb or 5 lb CO2 cylinder (CGA-320)
- Over-sink install or optional font/drip tray
The Zip HydroTap Arc Plus Boiling, Chilled & Sparkling system is the do-everything drinking-water tap. One swan-neck spout pours filtered 209°F boiling water, 44°F chilled water and 44°F sparkling water. Budget about $5,845 to $6,295, and know that covers two purchases: the under-sink command unit (about $4,815) plus the tap ($1,030 chrome, $1,480 other finishes). The CO2 cylinder and regulator are extra. It's the priciest tap here, but no other US system does all three this well.
Best for: Entertainers · Design-forward kitchens · Busy families
What we like
- True 209°F boiling, chilled and sparkling from one tap
- 85 cups an hour boiling, 75 cups an hour chilled or sparkling
- Six finishes, ADA compliant
- Boiling safety lock
- Uses standard 1.5 lb or 5 lb CO2 cylinders
Watch out for
- About $5,845 to $6,295 before CO2
- CO2 cylinder and regulator not included
- Warranty sources conflict (2 vs 3 years)
- Separate from your main faucet, so it needs its own hole
Design and build
The Arc Plus is a swan-neck tap that sits alongside your main faucet, with an optional font and drip tray if you'd rather place it away from the sink. It comes in chrome, brushed chrome, matte black, brushed gold, brushed nickel and gunmetal, and it's ADA compliant.
Beneath the sink, the BCS command unit (01043466) boils, chills, carbonates and filters. US retailers sell tap and unit as separate SKUs, so confirm both are on your quote, along with a CO2 cylinder (CGA-320, 1.5 lb or 5 lb) and regulator.
Performance on paper
Zip rates boiling at 209°F, delivered at 85 cups an hour on 120V, with Power-Pulse control keeping it on target. Chilled and sparkling water both come out at 44°F, at 75 cups an hour. Still water flows at 1.8 GPM, sparkling at a gentler 0.4 GPM, and the CO2 operating pressure is 39 to 44 psi.
Filtration is 0.2 micron, rated for 1,100 gallons or 12 months. A boiling safety lock protects against accidental scalds.
Who it's for (and who should skip it)
Buy it if your household uses boiling water for tea and cooking and also drinks sparkling water daily. It replaces a kettle, a filter pitcher and a countertop carbonator with one tap.
Skip it if you only need one of those functions. The Cube Plus covers boiling and chilled for about $300 less, GROHE Blue covers sparkling through your main faucet, and InSinkErator does near-boiling for about $1,100.
Price, warranty and service
Plessers lists the BCS command unit at $4,815 and the Arc Plus tap at $1,030 in chrome or $1,480 in other finishes (Abt shows $1,480.50), for about $5,845 to $6,295 before CO2. Zip's 2023 US price book lists 3 years parts and labor when registered, but AJ Madison shows both 2 and 3 years and Abt lists 2 years for the tap. Plan on 2 years unless your dealer confirms 3 in writing.
Zip is the US alternative to Quooker's CUBE, which isn't sold here.
How it compares
The Zip HydroTap Cube Plus drops sparkling and saves roughly $300. The GROHE Blue chilled and sparkling kit puts sparkling water in your main faucet but has no boiling. Our best boiling and sparkling water taps ranks them, and the water taps hub explains under-sink space and power needs. The Kitchen Suite Matcher can help plan the rest of the kitchen.
Our verdict
The Zip HydroTap Arc Plus is the most complete drinking-water tap in the US: true boiling, chilled and sparkling from one spout. It's two purchases totaling about $5,845 to $6,295, plus CO2, and warranty sources disagree. Buy it if you'll use all three every day.
