Zip is an Australian-origin brand, making products since about 1947, and owned by Culligan since 2017. It's known for HydroTap under-sink systems that dispense filtered boiling, chilled and, on some models, sparkling water from a single tap. In the US, where Quooker has no sales channel we could find, Zip is the luxury choice in our data for true boiling water at the sink.

Two Zip systems are in our database. Prices combine a command unit under the sink and a tap on top, which US retailers sell as separate SKUs, so always price both. The Zip HydroTap Cube Plus (about $5,548 to $5,998) delivers boiling water at 209°F and chilled water at 44°F, with Power-Pulse holding the boil within 0.4°F, up to 85 cups of boiling water an hour on 120 V, a boiling safety lock and a 1.8 GPM flow. The Zip HydroTap Arc Plus (about $5,845 to $6,295) adds sparkling water at 44°F through a swan-neck tap; it uses a CO2 cylinder that isn't included. Both filter to 0.2 micron, with filters rated for 1,100 gallons or 12 months, and come in six finishes from chrome to brushed gold.

Zip's US price book lists 3 years parts and labor when registered. For the Arc Plus, one retailer lists 2 years, so confirm in writing. Factor in filter replacements and, for sparkling, CO2 refills.

Who should shop Zip: tea and pour-over drinkers, busy families who want instant boiling water for pasta and bottles, and design-led kitchens that want one tap to do everything. Who should skip it: value buyers; the InSinkErator Indulge system delivers near-boiling water for about $1,088 to $1,227, and GROHE Blue does chilled and sparkling through your main faucet.

The Zip HydroTap Cube Plus Boiling & Chilled system is the closest thing to a true boiling-water tap you can buy in the US. It delivers filtered water at 209°F and chilled water at 44°F from one sleek, square tap. Budget about $5,548 to $5,998, and know that price is two separate purchases: the under-sink command unit (about $4,698) plus the tap ($850 in chrome, $1,300 in other finishes). There's no sparkling water on this model. It's expensive, but nothing at this level does true boiling better.

The Zip HydroTap Arc Plus Boiling, Chilled & Sparkling system is the do-everything drinking-water tap. One swan-neck spout pours filtered 209°F boiling water, 44°F chilled water and 44°F sparkling water. Budget about $5,845 to $6,295, and know that covers two purchases: the under-sink command unit (about $4,815) plus the tap ($1,030 chrome, $1,480 other finishes). The CO2 cylinder and regulator are extra. It's the priciest tap here, but no other US system does all three this well.

Questions about Zip

Is a Zip HydroTap worth it?

If you use hot water many times a day for tea, coffee or cooking, it can be. The Cube Plus delivers true boiling water at 209°F plus chilled water from one tap. It's expensive, at about $5,548 to $5,998 for unit and tap, so value buyers may prefer InSinkErator's near-boiling system for far less.

Is a Zip HydroTap safe with kids?

Zip builds in a boiling safety lock on both the Cube Plus and Arc Plus, so boiling water doesn't dispense by accident. As with a kettle, teach everyone how it works and supervise children around the sink. The Arc Plus is also listed as ADA compliant.

What's the difference between Zip and InSinkErator?

Zip dispenses true boiling water at 209°F, plus chilled and, on the Arc Plus, sparkling water. InSinkErator's Indulge system delivers near-boiling water, about 200°F from the factory, and cool filtered water that isn't refrigerated. Zip costs several times more, at about $5,548 and up for a full system.
