Breville Group Limited is an Australian company based in Sydney. It's known for prosumer-friendly espresso machines that build in a grinder, assist with tamping and texture milk automatically, through its Barista and Oracle lines. It also owns Italian espresso maker Lelit. Breville has the widest spread of any brand in our countertop data, covering coffee, ovens and mixers.

In coffee, the Breville Oracle Jet (about $1,999.95) automates grinding, dosing and tamping on a 58 mm group, with Baratza European steel burrs, dual ThermoJet heating, hands-free Auto MilQ microfoam and cold espresso programs. The Barista Express Impress (about $799.95) is a gateway machine rather than a luxury one, with assisted 22 lb tamping and a manual steam wand.

For countertop cooking, the Joule Oven Air Fryer Pro (about $499.95) adds app-guided Autopilot cooking and voice control, while the Smart Oven Air Fryer Pro (about $399.95) skips the app and uses six quartz elements. The Bakery Chef stand mixer (about $449.95) comes with glass and stainless bowls; some retailers list it as no longer available, so check stock.

Warranties are 2 years on the espresso machines and ovens in our data; the Bakery Chef lists 2 years repair and 5 years on the motor. Breville products are sold online, so compare authorized sellers.

Who should shop Breville: coffee lovers who want real espresso with guardrails, and small kitchens that want capable countertop ovens. Who should skip it: buyers who want push-button super-automatic simplicity (see Jura) or a steam oven (see Anova).

Compare: Jura vs Breville, Ankarsrum vs KitchenAid (with the Bakery Chef as an alternative) and Linea Micra vs Lelit Bianca. Browse the coffee hub and countertop appliances hub.

The Breville Barista Express Impress (BES876) isn't a luxury appliance, and that's the point. At a $799.95 regular price ($649.95 on sale when we checked on October 7, 2026), it's the most common gateway into real espresso. The Impress Puck System applies an assisted 22 lb tamp with a 7-degree twist, intelligent dosing adjusts from your last shot, and a 25-setting conical burr grinder is built in. You still steam milk by hand. Treat it as an affordable way to learn before investing in a Lelit or La Marzocco.

The Breville Oracle Jet (BES985) is the best bridge between push-button and real espresso. It lists at $1,999.95 at Breville and Seattle Coffee Gear, and it grinds, doses and tamps for you into a full-size 58 mm portafilter, then textures milk hands-free with Auto MilQ. You still lock in the portafilter and pull a café-style shot, but the hard parts are automated. Dual ThermoJet heating and a Baratza European Precision steel burr grinder with 45 settings round it out. It's big and partly automated, which won't suit purists.

By the specs it has 1 cu. ft. of space and 1,800 watts, enough for a 13-inch pizza, a 14-lb turkey or a 9x13 pan. Breville lists it at about $399.95 regular price. The Breville Bakery Chef (BEM825) is a smart, compact stand mixer for everyday bakers, but check availability first. AJ Madison and Best Buy list it as no longer available, though breville.com still sells it at about $449.95. On paper it has a 550-watt motor, 12 speeds, a 5-quart glass bowl plus a 4-quart stainless bowl, and a built-in timer with auto-stop. It suits cakes, cookies and modest bread batches in a smaller kitchen. Heavy bread bakers should look at the Ankarsrum or KitchenAid 7-quart.

The Breville Joule Oven Air Fryer Pro (BOV950) is the connected version of Breville's popular countertop oven. It adds Joule Autopilot, which runs guided multi-step recipes from the app, push notifications and Alexa and Google Assistant voice control. By the specs it has 13 presets plus 3 app-only modes, 1,800 watts and 0.9 cu. ft., enough for a 13-inch pizza, nine slices of toast, a 14-lb turkey or a 9x13 pan. Breville lists it at about $499.95. Buy it if you'll use the app; otherwise the Smart Oven Air Fryer Pro costs less.

Questions about Breville

Is the Breville Oracle Jet worth it?

For people who want real espresso without the learning curve, it's a strong buy at about $1,999.95. It grinds, doses and tamps for you on a 58 mm group and textures milk hands-free. Our editorial ratings, estimated from specs rather than tests, score it a 5 for performance and features.

Does Breville own Lelit?

Yes. Breville announced its acquisition of Lelit in 2022. Lelit continues to make Italian prosumer espresso machines such as the Bianca V3, a dual-boiler with paddle flow control and a plumbing option, which sits above Breville's own machines for hands-on enthusiasts.

Which Breville countertop oven should I buy?

Buy the Joule Oven Air Fryer Pro, about $499.95, if you want app guidance, push notifications and voice control. Buy the Smart Oven Air Fryer Pro, about $399.95, if you want the same 13-function cooking without the app. Neither steams; for combi-steam, look at the Anova Precision Oven 2.0.
