Jura appliances: review and lineup

Jura is a Swiss maker of super-automatic espresso machines, based in Niederbuchsiten, Switzerland. It's known for its Pulse Extraction Process, product-recognizing grinders and the J.O.E. app. Every Jura in our database is a countertop machine that grinds, brews and froths at the touch of a button, so it suits households that want café drinks without learning barista skills.

Two Jura lines are in our database. The Jura E8 (about $2,599 to $2,799, depending on the dealer) is the sensible pick: 17 one-touch specialties, a conical stainless-steel burr grinder, a siphon milk system that draws from any container and an 11-inch-wide body that fits tight counters. App control needs the separately sold Wi-Fi Connect. The Jura Z10 (about $3,999, from $4,399 list) is the flagship, with hot and cold extraction for cold brew, 51 specialties, the P.R.G.2+ product-recognizing grinder and Wi-Fi Connect included. One authorized dealer showed it sold out when we checked on October 7, 2026, so confirm stock.

Jura's US warranty is 2 years limited. Countertop machines are sold online, so prices vary between authorized sellers; compare a few before you buy. Plan for upkeep, too: super-automatics need regular cleaning and descaling to keep running well, and local service options matter more than any spec.

Who should shop Jura: households that want push-button lattes and cappuccinos, offices and anyone who values a compact, focused machine. Who should skip it: hands-on espresso hobbyists who want a portafilter and flow control (see Lelit or La Marzocco), and remodelers who want a built-in; Jura's machines in our data are countertop only.

The Jura E8 (Gen 4) is the Swiss super-automatic most households should buy. It costs about $2,599 to $2,799 depending on the authorized dealer, makes 17 one-touch specialties, and pairs Jura's Pulse Extraction Process with a conical stainless-steel burr grinder. A siphon milk system draws from any container, including the carton. It lacks the Z10's cold extraction and automatic grind adjustment, and Wi-Fi needs a separately sold dongle, but for hot espresso and milk drinks it covers nearly everything for about $1,400 less.

The Jura Z10 is the countertop super-automatic to buy if you want the most capable push-button machine and don't need it built into a wall. It lists around $3,999 (down from a $4,399 list at one major retailer) and does something most rivals can't: hot and cold extraction, so it brews true cold-brew-style coffee on demand. Add a P.R.G.2+ product-recognizing grinder, 51 specialties and Wi-Fi Connect included. One flag: Seattle Coffee Gear showed it sold out on October 7, 2026, so check stock.

Questions about Jura

Is a Jura worth the money?

For people who want consistent espresso drinks with no learning curve, yes. Jura machines grind, brew and froth in one press, and the E8 makes 17 specialties from an 11-inch-wide footprint. If you enjoy the craft of pulling shots, a semi-automatic like the Lelit Bianca gives you more control for similar money.

Should I buy the Jura E8 or Z10?

Buy the E8 if you want hot espresso drinks, a compact size and a price around $2,599 to $2,799. Step up to the Z10, about $3,999, if you want cold brew via hot and cold extraction, 51 specialties, a grinder that adjusts itself per drink and Wi-Fi Connect included in the box.

What warranty does Jura offer?

Jura lists a 2-year limited warranty in the US for its machines, including the E8 and Z10. Register your machine, follow the cleaning and descaling schedule, and buy from an authorized seller so the warranty is honored. Ask the seller who handles repairs in your area before you buy.
